Marketplace Leadership

Transforming Society Through Your Everyday Work

Marketplace leadership shapes our daily outcomes, for better or worse. For Christians, its impact is even more consequential. A Christian professional is any believer who is an entrepreneur, a professional of some kind, working in a chosen field, or a full-time Gospel minister with a professional background. A Christian professional mainly functions outside of the church world.

Christian professionals operate in a complex environment of competition, relationships, access, influence, politics, and economics called the marketplace. This setting contrasts with the church’s cooperative atmosphere, experienced only briefly each week.

Of the 168 hours a week, Christian professionals spend about 6 hours in church ( about 10% of the week’s time). The remaining 162 hours (90% of the week) are spent strategizing, negotiating, and engaging in competitive business transactions. This realm, the marketplace, is where leadership becomes both unique and critical for Christian professionals.

Many Christian professionals feel the church does not always adequately address their realities in the marketplace. While biblical teaching is for all, a church-centered mindset creates a divide, seeing the church as sacred and the marketplace as secular, and undervaluing the daily challenges faced by most Christians.

Christian professionals are then left to navigate two worlds:

  • Their church world, where they are considered to be serving God when they come to church.
  • Their professional world, where they are seen as dealing with worldly affairs.

This split mindset confuses Christian professionals, undermines their sense of service, and impairs their performance in the marketplace.

But the professional life of Christians does not contradict spiritual legitimacy, nor does spirituality require withdrawal from the economic enterprises of the marketplace. Profit-making and wealth creation honor God as much as preaching and evangelizing do. Jesus taught more about money than about heaven, hell, and prayer combined.

My mentoring program bridges that gap by equipping Christian professionals to directly address marketplace challenges with faith-based principles, deepen their biblical understanding, and confidently navigate their careers and calling. Participants develop practical tools for real-world impact, making the value of the program both immediate and lasting. These goals are achieved through the following instruments:

  • Regular webinars
  • A personalized mentoring program
  • Networking

Some of the guaranteed outcomes include:

  • practical skills for real-world marketplace challenges
  • a sound biblical understanding
